Vilma Markusson
An emerging Scandinavian artist exploring colour, memory, and the natural rhythms of her adopted home in Portugal.
Vilma's work is rooted in the contrast between northern restraint and southern warmth. Her paintings are built slowly through intuitive layers, balancing soft fields of colour with confident, gestural marks.
Working from her studio in Portugal, she draws inspiration from changing Atlantic light, quiet domestic moments, and the landscapes she carries with her. Each piece is an invitation to pause and find something personal within the abstract.
Vilma is currently developing a new collection of original works and a small edition of selected fine art prints.
